"Freigesprochen" ist eine Geschichte über Schuld und Lüge: In einem kleinen Ort löst der Kuss des korrekten Fahrdienstleiters Thomas Hudetz und der Studentin Anna ein furchtbares Zugsunglück aus, das viele Leben auslöscht und gleichzeitig das Leben aller Beteiligten aus den Fugen geraten lässt. Die gemeinsame Schuld und die gemeinsame Lüge treiben Thomas und Anna in eine obsessive Liebe, die nicht nur ihr Leben dramatisch verändert. 　　"Free to Leave" is a story about guilt and lies: in a small village a kiss between the upright station master Thomas Hudetz and student Anna results in a terrible train accident that wipes out many lives and, at the same time, causes the lives of the people involved to go awry. The guilt and lies they have in common drive Thomas and Anna into an obsessive love that changes lives dramatically - not just theirs.
